The Division of Access and Engagement is committed to accessibility, belonging, community engagement, and creating pathways to higher education. Why give to Campus Chest?

For the Community:

• In 2024, United Way of Greater Knoxville raised $17.7 million in 2024 to serve 655,482 community members.
• Community Shares celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2025. The nonprofit supports 28 organizations working toward progressive social change across Tennessee. UT employees and retirees have been steadfast donors and supporters for the entire 40 years.
• Creating Healthier Communities partners with 1,300+ nonprofits raising $12M each year to address barriers to health, education, access, and wellbeing.

For UT's Mission: As a land-grant university, we are called to serve Tennessee. Campus Chest is a powerful way we live that commitment – strengthening community partnerships and uniting in collective action for a bigger community impact.

For Each Other: When faculty and staff invest in our community, we demonstrate to alumni, donors, and prospective students that UT truly cares about Tennessee. Our participation shows that we practice what we teach about civic engagement and service.

Your Impact in Action

$1 per week provides literacy support for a student
$5 per week helps stock food pantries or provides contraception for those in need
$10 per week funds legal representation for DACA renewals
$26 per week (the cost of lunch out twice) helps families achieve financial stability through United Way's Economic Mobility programs
